A five day section from Filey on the east coast to Helmsley on the southern edge of the North York Moors. This links the Rivers Rye, Riccal, Dove and Seven with the oddball that is the River Hertford near the coast. The Hertford is an oddity in that its source is just a handful of miles from the coast which is the usual ultimate destination of most rivers, yet flows inland away from the coast. It is also probably the most remote river of all 41 covered by this walk when it comes to creating a section that includes it as part of a naturally flowing path.
